Alaa Hadhad

Alaa Hadhad is a woman living a second life. She has faced many frightening and difficult challenges having lost her husband in the Syrian war, left alone in the foreign country of Lebanon, all while having to care for two young children.

Her life has changed completely since landing in Canada with her two children in the fall of 2016 to join her family who arrived earlier that year. Alaa has achieved much success after joining the family business, Peace by Chocolate. In addition to creating beautiful chocolate, the company's mission is to spread the message of peace and love. Their family story has gained international recognition as a beautiful example of welcoming newcomers to a new country. 

Alaa is a graduate of Damascus University, earning a degree in Arabic literature. She has recently begun the next part of her journey to become a public speaker, carrying the mission of inspiration, gratitude, resiliency and peace.
